BACKGROUND:
Alleging in a negligence/malpractice suit filed on September 27, 2016, in Montgomery County, Maryland, that LeRoy Carhart so severely botched her late-term abortion earlier this year that she nearly died. She endured such extreme injuries that she continues to suffer permanent disability and will likely never bear another child. LeRoy Carhart and Germantown Reproductive Health Services are prominently mentioned in latest report on abortion clinic safety entitled “Unsafe: How The Public Health Crisis in America’s Abortion Clinics Endangers Women.” This latest investigative report focuses on the increasingly suspect safety record of America’s abortion industry. Evidence collected from 32 states on hundreds of abortion clinics establishes that the practice of abortion in America has devolved into the “red light district” of medicine and is populated by dangerous, substandard providers. Unsafe shows the “tip” of the iceberg, convincingly demonstrating a nationwide pattern of abuse that characterizes an industry that fights to keep profits high and standards low.
Javier Jesus continued - After receiving a poor pre-natal diagnosis that would have lead to an almost certain death shortly after his birth, this little boy’s parents came to Carhart in Germantown at 28 weeks pregnant. After talking with the side-walk counselors the parents went to a specialist who also brought to them the same diagnosis.
Courageously choosing to bring their son into the world instead of aborting him, his parents were expecting the worst. But God had other plans. Javier Jesus only needed minor abdominal surgery and he will be fine and healthy. No explanation except for God's direct intervention. Your prayers are being heard! The Mom is doing fine and both parents are extremely grateful.
Thank you to all who participated in this 40 Days For Life campaign. Collectively we have added almost 500 additional hours of prayer during this campaign. Over the past 10 campaigns we have been on Wisteria Drive in Germantown praying for over 6,000 hours. And God continues to answer our prayers! During this campaign there were 11 babies that were spared from being aborted.

Carhart’s post-abrortion instructions start out with: "Thank you for giving us the opportunity to participate with you in this procedure, which will allow you the opportunity to change the rest of your life.” And quickly follows up with: "Dr. Carhart has performed over 70,000 terminations of pregnancy in the past 25 years…” SEE ACTUAL DOCUMENT.
"Q: Are there times when you don’t remove the fetus intact?
Carhart: We talk about the forehead and the skull being first … about the feet being first, … usually something prolapses through the uterine, … not always but very often an extremity will.
Carhart: My normal course would be to dismember that extremity and then go back and try to take the fetus out either foot or skull first, whatever end I can get to first.
Q: How do you go about dismembering that extremity?
Carhart: Just traction and rotation [pulling and twisting] grasping the portion that you can get a hold of ... the exposed portion of the fetus, pulling down on it … and rotating to dismember the shoulder or the hip or whatever it would be.
Q: When you pull on the arm and remove it, is the fetus still alive?
Carhart: Yes.
Q: At what point is the fetus… Does the fetus die during that process?
Carhart: I don’t really know. I know that the fetus is alive during the process most of the time because I can see the fetal heartbeat on the ultrasound."

Lord Have Mercy and Hear Our Prayers
…the driver called over and asked to speak with someone. Two from the group addressed the man from his car window. He told them that he had seen the Monday prayer vigils and protests several times and just had to pull over to say THANK YOU for being there. His mother 35 years ago entered an abortion clinic and then changed her mind, and our presence and our work in Germantown moved him greatly...
For the second time in 2013, one of LeRoy Carhart’s abortion patients were rushed to Shady Grove Hospital (SGH) in Maryland for emergency treatment after a late-term abortion. SOURCE: Operation Rescue
On July 9th an ambulance arrived at Germantown Reproductive Health Services and transported one of LeRoy Carhart’s abortion patients to a local hospital. A press conference about this incident was held in front of Germantown Pregnancy Choices, across from LeRoy Carhart’s late-term abortion clinic July 11th.
The Maryland Board of Physicians has decided not to take action against late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart for the death of Jennifer Morbelli, a 29-year old woman who suffered fatal complications from a very late 33-week abortion.
Eye witness says Carhart hospitalized 4th woman in 10 months, 2nd in 4 days! It is reported that JUST 4 DAYS after a Carhart patient in Germantown was taken to the hospital on November 30th ANOTHER Carhart patient, this time in Nebraska, was also taken to the hospital by ambulance!! New Yorker Magazine: For medical abortions, Brigham’s clinics use older drug methotrexate vs. mifepristone (RU486). Why? Because mifepristone pills cost about $94 each, while a dose of methotrexate costs between $5 and $25 providing huge profit margins. However, over 10 of Brigham’s patients have come to Carhart because the older cheaper drug doesn’t kill the babies - for weeks on end… See highlighted section on page 12 of New Yorker article.
Maryland House of Delegates send formal letter (pdf) to Department seeking clarification of the state’s new abortion clinic licensing regulations. Asks:
“…if not a patient’s death, what is the trigger for immediately suspending the license of a surgical abortion facility…?"
